    Painting fiberglass dinghy?

Agreed. We deliberately keep our hard tender looking scruffy as a theft deterrent.

    Easy Disposal of Marine Flares

🙂but I still have all my digits, limbs and eyes!

    Easy Disposal of Marine Flares

Yes, there are very good reasons for the illegality of tampering with flares etc. and that's one of them.

    Easy Disposal of Marine Flares

That would be illegal. They are class 1.4 explosives.

Options along Medway river. - Chatham berth expires end oct and i cannot afford the renewal cost

I'm pretty sure that MCC has a few newly laid swinging moorings going spare. We also have a very well equipped boatyard, though you will need your own trolley to use it. There may be something suitable available second hand, or one can be built on site. Our fees are very reasonable too. The...

    NHC rating number help please

That sounds like a fairly severe case of pot hunting. There surely can't be much satisfaction in winning through that tactic?

    NHC rating number help please

Thanks very much for you help and advice everyone. In the end I trawled through a fair bit of yacht data and found the Norlin 34 to have a fairly similar hull and rig, though heavier displacement, and chose a rating of 0.900 based on that. I've had no complaints from anyone yet but that may...

    NHC rating number help please

Hi I realise this is a bit of a longshot but I thought I'd ask anyway. We have a boat competing in our club Autumn series that doesn't have an RYA assigned NHC rating. The boat is an Albin Singoalla, she's 10.26 m loa, 8.3 m lwl, 3.3 m beam, displaces 4000 kg, 1701 kg ballast, 46.5 sqm sail...

    Dinghy Choice

On a more positive note from me; The Osprey is a real thoroughbred, fast and powerful without being looney, well balanced and quite stable as they're beamy. Their only drawback is that they're heavyish at 134 kg. The Miracle isn't particularly fast but it's light, nimble and fun. It also...

    Dinghy Choice

I cannot recommend that you avoid the RS Vision enough, it's a terrible boat. The helm is very heavy, not weather or lee helm, it's just heavy, the plastic they're made from splits and has to be welded to repair so not a DIY job, you'll slide around the deck and gunwale and the boat will want to...

Recommend me a masthead tricolour / anchor light

I should probably add that our old masthead light was immersed to a depth of several meters and while it could be cleaned up and reused, it's fairly old and has seen better days and hence the desire for a replacement. Thanks all for your input so far.

Recommend me a masthead tricolour / anchor light

Agreed. There's also the colour output of the LED to consider as many have a pretty limited spectrum with fairly narrow band peaks, from memory it's something like loads of blue and a fair bit of green for cool white LEDs and largely green and yellow for warm white LEDs and not a lot else for...

Recommend me a masthead tricolour / anchor light

They look good but are rather expensive.

Recommend me a masthead tricolour / anchor light

Yes, chiefly tricolour. I'm ambivalent about masthead anchor so either with or without is fine, though if a there's an integral anchor light it gives the option to use it or an alternative.
