Did the lost keys thing into the marina, then lost the magnet that I'd rather hastily tied to a bit of string when the knot came undone. Fortunately the marina had a magnet (rather better tied on) and I got back my magnet and keys.
Thanks for the replies everyone , On opening up the connection box the wiper arms are just connected to unused terminals, and are not doing anything as far as I can see, so I suspect the suggestion of it being a re-tasked windscreen wiper motor and gearbox is likely correct.
Once inside the...
OK I've replaced the dodgy carbon brush in the motor, full of anticipation I connected up to 12V - Nothing happened except the wires started getting hot and smoke started coming out of the connection block. Ouch.
So I disassembled the gear box to find 3 slip rings and a rather complicated...
The motor on my lavac pump died on me this morning, there is no problem with the supply. Taking the motor apart I could see there are three carbon brushes two bigger than the third.
The smaller brush is worn so much that I thing that is the problem, but I'm a bit confused as to why there are...
This summer we are planning on stopping in South Wales on our way home from Southern Ireland for our nephews wedding. The marina closest to the wedding venue is Swansea and closest to the wedding reception is Cardiff. Common sense suggests Cardiff would be a better place to stay over, but I've...

to the two email addresses on the form.
As far as I could see the copy to the marina was unnecessary as they never mentioned it when we checked in. (in fact I didn't get any...
Hi all,
Having waited for the winds to die down so we can get across to France from Portland, I find that Cherbourg is going to be full of Fastnet boats from 17th to 31st with no guarantees of space available. So I'm wondering what my alternatives are? We want to spend some time in France and go...
Has anyone found the slot in the Manson Supreme useful to retrieve a stuck anchor, its always struck me as more of a marketing gimmick than of practical use. Supposedly does away with the need for a trip line.
I've done this with a 15Kg donor and both 4.5 and 907 recipients. I put the target bottle in a bucket of water and have found that with both by the time they settle on the bottom they are just under full i.e. with the right amount of LPG not full to the top. The water in the bucket keeps the...
Is there a connector that would allow to join two stainless tubes at right angles without welding. One would be 19mm and the other 32mm.
