New Beta 43hp installation on a 43ft sailing boat. There is visible shaft movement at the through hull fitting with vibration.
I am concerned is is improper alignment of the engine and coupling with the shaft.
The installer says the alignment is good and thinks it is the Autostream (expensive...
Still working out how to get clean fuel to the pump. The first inline filter looks untouched for ages and very rusty. There is a metal pipe from the tank, then continues with a small flexible hose. Should I replace it or just bypass it (the filter is reluctant to unscrew) .
I will try and listen. The wheel does go solid when switching to auto from standby.
The display panel is still showing compass course correctly so must be talking to the compass. It also shows rudder angle correctly so is talking to the quadrant.
The problem seems to be transmitting the...
Sounds a good idea. No sound when pushing plus and minus. Is it supposed to beep? That could be the problem.
Earlier reply Rupert. If I connect direct 12v from battery to the linear motor, is it reversing the cables that gives plus and minus course change with the ram?
Raytheon (now Raymarine) ST 60001. The controller is connecting to the quadrant (wheel is engaged) however on auto no response to compass plus and minus adjustments.
The linear motor driving the HyPro hydraulic had a faulty brush (now repaired) but still not getting a response.
Any...
That would be brilliant. I did have an engineer come and look. He suggested I installed a new engine. It is 45 years old and has had minimal maintenance. Access is atrocious. All the wiring looks terrible, with bits of old wires hanging around going nowhere. The rev counter, oil pressure gauge...
Thank you for the wise words, wish you lived in Plymouth.
I will try and fill the bowl via the bleed screw as you suggest. The pump lever is very loose and shows no pressure at all, even when progressively turning the flywheel.
Sadly (typically) the main engine filter bowl is very...
Still major struggle getting fuel around the system. The tank is lower than the engine. There is a small in line filter of some kind with a metal bowl. Then the feed to a glass bowl filter above the engine (the one I changed the rusty filter). As it all comes apart in bits I cant refill. Then...
