Laptop power problem

Hi and thanks to everyone who posted. I bought this one...ad.LT20-3500-DC+Airline Works fine (in the car anyway!) We're planning our first trip from Poole to Cherbourg on Friday - so it will be nice to have the plotter working too. Cheers Jono

    Laptop power problem

I think the one I had was a Targa one. Soke to the ony shop they were suggesting getting an inverter - but I guess your device is doing the same kind of thing to lift the voltage up to 19.5? Jono

    Laptop power problem

Thanks for that - Just noticed that the AC supply transformer has a 19.5V output... So would the only way to run it be through an inverter? Thanks, Jono

    Laptop power problem

I am using Meridian software with ARCS charts on my Sony Vaio. Problem I am having is that the Vaio battery is very poor - so have tried using the 12v supply. Basically I have been using a converter that runs from the cigarette lighter (it was one I bought for airtravel use) Trouble is that it...

    Autohelm 1000

I managed to stand on my Autohelm 1000 at the weekend and have bent the metal rod that secures the unit to my cockpit seat. Having heaved at it to get it out - it came out with the fitting it sits in stuck on the rod and has broken out of the plastic molding it pivots in. Anyone know the contact...

    Silva S15 RaDIO

I've just installed a new Silva S15 DSC radio with Navtex. One problem I have is that the warning beeps for things like a Navtex receipt or a securite alert on DSC are sent to the external speaker at full volume even if you have the volume of the S15 turned right down. So you get the Navtex...

    First stab at the electrics

OK thanks for all the tips. I'm presuming I can use the bus bars on the switch panel itself. Do you have any tips for labelling the wires...?! Jono

    First stab at the electrics

OK this is where I get confused.... Are the metal plates at the top and bottom of the switch panel not bus bars? Do you mean a separate bus bar on its own? The original Beneteau panel is just fused on the positive side. So I'm presuming the benteau swict panel neg bus bar is connected back to...

    First stab at the electrics

On my Beneteau First 26 I have an original Benteau Fused switch panel + another 4 switch fused panel which has been added. The switches on this have broken so I have started to replace it. Being a bit new to this I wondered whether someone might have a couple of suggestions for me....! It's a...

    Bilges

I have a Beneteau First 26 - and in the couple of years I've had her I've never come across any water in the bilges - she's always been a very dry boat. However yesterday after having my first sail for about 3 weeks I noticed the bilges had about a bucket of water in them. It may sound silly...

    OLD DIESEL

I bought my first boat in August last year. In the locker was a big plastic container of diesel - about half full. Last weekend I filled it up to take on a West Country Cruise starting this weekend. Not knowing how old the original diesel is - is there anything I should be worried about using...
