After a winter with not too many storms on the Clyde my mooring lines have gone fluffy. Is this purely down to wear or is there some reaction between the rope and the rubber? The line underneath is the same rope.
You can get special "thick grease" eg NyoGel 767A – Newgate Simms I have used this on a castering nose wheel on a light aircraft to damp out excessive movement. It's thicker than treacle but does lubricate.
I've just been watching the Planetsail review of Boot2023 on youtube. The new Jenneau SO55 has a Lat /Long on its bow. I looked it up and it is La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. A bit of a strange connection or am i missing something?

My routing software says 275nm if you go west of Skye, east of Coll and west of Islay. Non stop at 3kts average that would be 92hrs. At 4 kts it comes down to 69 hours. Going east of Skye and west of Mull only drops the distance by 7nm.
