I have a Garmin Quatix, an early one which by a quirk of fate have only worn on two occasions. I recently put it on charge and whilst it works perfectly whilst connected, dies immediately the lead is removed.
Garmin don't provide a battery change service.
I have tried my usual go to, a great...
Be very careful here. In UK power supplies are usually rigged so that the earth is at ground potential. This does not follow in all countries as I found to my cost when my saildrive became gouda.
The best solution is an isolating transformer to ensure that nothing 'off' the boat affects...
I think the issue is a small diesel running continuously at 3000 RPM. Irrespective of load. Using a four pole machine reduces the engine speed to 1500 RPM hence the noise and vibration levels.
The newer philosophy is to generate DC and power an inverter. This way the engine runs at a speed to...
Just a suggestion...
Would it be better to use the title 'electronics whizz, Southsea Marina needed'?
Not wishing to interfere, but your title restricts you viewers!

The implications of this are that the companies who have been gouging the market for years will be found out!
I have legit refillable bottles on my BBQ, Boat, Motorhome and smile every time I drive past a 'bottled gas depot!

Can someone remind me of the name for the compound used to insulate stainless screws, bolts, etc when used in alloy spars?
It reduces the risk of corrosion.
Need to buy some more and the boat is overseas.
Thanks
Tony
Dont do it.
I have cupholders on either side of the binnacle held on with 3M tape.
Broke one and had a heck of a job to change it.
Why risk holes?? Cracks, scuffs etc?

Hi,
I have a lot of boats stuff which I need to dispose of. There is a lot of stuff that I have accumulated over the years.
Does anyone know of anyone who would buy the lot to sell on??
It is located close to Hamble.
Thanks
Tony.
If you have an isolating transformer, leave it on.
If not, consider what an earth fault can do. Not all countries are as good as UK at making sure that the earth wire is at ground potential. Imagine your marina earth is running at, say seventy volts.
Think about how long a saildrive would...
