    Bidet on a boat ?

As long as you have a 12v supply close at hand I can't see a problem. T piece in the inlet to a Bosch brushless pump [the type electric cars use for cooling] and a hand held unit off eBay. Instal a push on button to the handle and you're good to go.

    Technodrive TMC40M clutch slipping?

ATF is always red. Honey coloured makes it a hydraulic oil.

    Technodrive TMC40M clutch slipping?

Talk about not reading my own posts! The ATF specifications are in the bottom part of the first photo from the manual above. Basically what the manufacturer is saying is modern ATF"s meant for the new generation of cars are too good for a gearbox that needs some friction.

    Technodrive TMC40M clutch slipping?

The gear ratios are different. From my notes, The ATF should meet Allison C-3 or Caterpillar TO-2 specifications or Dexron 2 if available. Dexron 3 and above have too much in the way of additives and may foam. I can not find the manual now but I did take a photo of the adjustment procedure.

    Technodrive TMC40M clutch slipping?

Download the Twin Disc manual for the TMC manual and it has a diagram showing the allen key adjustment on the end of that bolt. Take note of what lubricant the manufacturer specifies[Twin Disc]. It is an ATF Dexron 2 or the catapillar spec oil. Dexron 3 and above is too slippery and will cause...

    How much anchor chain?

I use 5 metres of 10mm chain with 14mm braid rope and a 13 kg Ultra anchor on my 30 foot 4 ton Currawong 30. The anchor lives in an anchor well. This is a moderate to heavy yacht and weight in the ends spoils the sailing performance. With lighter modern yacht heaps of unnecessary chain and...

    Volvo Md7b control panel wiring.

Selected the next fuse element this morning and with the wires correctly on the correct pins thanks to VicS's excellent diagram the system works fine. Tossed the green wire into the chart table! Thanks for all the assistance.

    Volvo Md7b control panel wiring.

Thanks Bilgediver. I went home and then realized I could have checked the inline fuses, they are just under the bunk I sit on. I'm sure the two switches have never been used. Now that I have a decent diagram I'm confident I have the terminals sorted and once I have power back at the starter...

    Volvo Md7b control panel wiring.

Previous owner was an electrical engineer, that's some of his handiwork. Sitting at the chart table now still fooling around with this. No power at the back of the panel now. Might need a fresh pair of eyes to sort this! Glorious winter day and I would rather be sailing.

    Volvo Md7b control panel wiring.

Thanks VicS those diagrams are much clearer than what I had. I'm fairly sure it's a stock setup except the starter switch is upside down! Should be able to sort it now. Appreciate all your help

    Volvo Md7b control panel wiring.

Thanks for the replies. The other green wires go to terminal 75 and all the green wire ends have names on them. This wire has 30 on one end and switch on the other. I'm fairly sure it came off by itself as I pulled the panel, there was only about 5 wires I had to disconnect and I sketched a mud...

    Volvo Md7b control panel wiring.

Have just replaced the timber for the instrument panel. While doing this I had to disconnect the wires from the back of the panel. Putting it back together was fairly simple because the leads are clearly marked or so I thought! One thick green wire with 30 marked on one end and switch on the...

    Mounted Open CPN Plotter Replacement

I use a laptop with Seaclear. It's an older Toshiba with the battery removed and it sits in a wooden frame. There is a wooden piece the same size as the battery that locates the laptop and it's also held in place with SS screws. I use a Logitec trackball mouse that's screwed down on a pad so...

Any first hand experience of Hookah/Hookamax Dive system

Hookahs are very common in Australia for commercial use and recreational use. More than 50% of the yachts in my home port use them. The professional scallop divers use hookahs and also use air to propel their cages. I have never heard of any accidents with hookahs, plenty with scuba. The only...

Any first hand experience of Hookah/Hookamax Dive system

I have a hookah system I put together myself based around a Thomas pump and the best of everything. Cost me about $450 or a third the cost of the bought item with the same bits. Mate did the same. Brilliant bit of kit. Short video and a shameless selfie and does not show much of the hookah...
