    New rig price/Do it myself??

well thanks very much. thats a great help. i think the boats with the newer sail wardrobe are more economically advantageous. now all i ahve to do is wittle it down by other criteria such as equipment. in the end isn't it all about getting more boat for your buck!!

    OIL

you are all correct about sludge deposits and old engines etc and true, boats aren't cars but engines are engines and given the correct love from the start, will last many years. Of course oil suppliers want us to buy their range of sludge busters, bore glaze removers and the like. As a rule...

    Yanmar 3YM20 Oil Extraction

when you get oil out rig up a pipe from the sump plug so gravity does the job. you could get a flex S/S braided hose if the plug is in a bad position. standard thread. sucking oil out like this is a disaster. then every other time open plug on pipe and drink tea while Mr. Gravity does the...

    Any carpenters out there?

as the teacher used to say in woodwork. "boards cup away from the heart" so therefore you need (i'm pretty sure anyway, i'll check) Tangentilly sawn strips. Also the sawn plank needs to be well seasoned (not salt and pepper) and i think about 18% moisture content. the stuff you are getting...

    32s5 or sigma 33ood

thanks. that the 32s5 well and truly shot down. i knew they were not in demand as this 32s5 has been for sale with about 18months and i can only find about 5 others elsewhere on line. there is a 345 local to me but she is a few quid more. It even feels like a sturdy bus. I also agree with...

    32s5 or sigma 33ood

thanks very much to all for the informative information, alot of which (rigs being tensioned with a 2' lever) i never knew. i suppose these are the same type as those who toss the toilet roll over the ide to save weight! you know who you are. Clearly the sigma gets the majority vote by all...
