yes indeed. natural selection has failed to reduce the jetski population so far though!
having had several goes on them I can see the attraction - they're great fun but a lot of riders definitely imagine that everyone on boats really enjoy their displays.
Once was buzzed relentlessly at anchor...
to keep ropes nice and soft to the touch its good to put them through a warm cycle in your washing machine at the end of the season with a good dose of fabric conditioner. Sounds a but girly but def works!
When I took my boat there through the French canals we met a lot of folks on their way back home after a spell in the med. about 5 years seemed the average. We thought they had lost the plot.
5 years later we also had done everything we wanted to do - it actually got a bit "another day - another...
One of my favourite places down there was La Ciotat. not the new(ish)marinabut the old harbour area. Very very French and a "real" place. Sanary sur Mer also brilliant.
Always used regular domestic carpet without problems but if you were concerned with water resistance in a marine environment - what about bathroom carpet?
With respect, it's not just the opinion of "some broker" but a widely held view and I think most Dutch steel boatbuilders do aim their product at the inland waterway market. There are of course exceptions, but careful choice would be needed IMHO

Dutch steel was also my first thought but rightly or wringly I was deterred by the offshore rolling spectre and fear of perpetual 8 knot cruising and finally...
Much excellent advice on this thread but there is a downside to the use of snubbers/bridles etc. Sometimes you need to get that anchor up and get away quickly if there's a sudden unforecast overnight change in weather.(happens in the med not infrequently)
