Does anyone know how to remove the handle strap on top of the tube so I can replace a broken grab handle?

Also, is it possible to replace a slatted floor with a pump up floor?

Thanks

Not sure about the handles but I did enquire about a retro fit airdeck for ours and it is not possible apparenly as the bottom skin on the slatted one is different to the airdeck.

Does anyone know ...........
Thanks
Glued Hypalon dinghies can be disassembled by softening the glue with a hot air gun but I believe your Zodiac is of all welded PVC construction.

I would take it to a professional repairer.

Thanks for that.......be interesting to try one though :)

Thanks for your reply, but I don't think any ungluing should be required, the handles are attached to a strap which disappears into a "pod" (which is indeed attached to a glued/welded pad). There is some sort of locking mechanism to allow the strap to be removed but I don't want to force anything....... yet. The strap must be removable as replacement handles are sold to fit to the strap.
Not sure, but my Zodiac is about 12 years old and appears to be glued so a hot air gun could be a last resort?
(Edit nope you're right, it's welded)

ITYWF that its a solvent based "glue" which cannot be released in the same way as the adhesive used for Hypalon. The PVC itself would most likely start to melt.

If the replacement handles can be bought perhaps fitting instructions are available with them. These are the handles presumably. (£14 per pair)

I've lifted the picture from IBS parts website........ perhaps they can help

Sorted now, had a brainwave driving home!

Deflate the tube with affected handle,
Push the strap further into housing and the retaining bit pops out......

This is what the whole side looks like for anyone else's reference.....

Hi habebty. same idea different flat strap, I did the same after a bit of daydreaming!
Also replaced the melting rowlocks type with the new pattern which you may have already as your 2.40 is newer.
My cost was £100.
I whinged a bit, but this size of duck is as much as I can manage unless "maigret of, a l'Orange"
