The IT gods have smiled on me and have installed a bit of software on my machine...It now means we can now show you the 360º images full screen so you can see the inside of the yachts at a size that I think is quite impressive

Full screen 360º interactive saloon shot of the Elan 310

But I'd like your feedback please

First off, what do you think? good? bad?
I also need to know how quick is it to load on your various systems?
How easy do you find it to use?
Do you think it's a benefit to YBW?

or anything about the 360 you feel is worth letting me know.

Don't worry about the boat or the interior decor, I'd just like your views on the 360 thing

Be as honest as I know you all can be ;)

Thanx in advance :)

That's definitely quite impressive, you can almost make yourself seasick. Definitely gives a better impression of the cabin than stills. Where can I get one of those hovering floormats from?

Cool. Quick to load on my laptop too.

It's quick to load on mine, but I didn't know whether it was because it's cached on my machine, or because of my tinterweb connection ;)

It's less than 1mb in size, which comes at the cost of the sharpness, but I think it's a good compromise, but it's good to get other opinions

Glad you liked it tho :)

TBH I think that this is interesting technology that is looking for a useful application.

It is fascinating technology but in terms of giving an overall impression of the boat it does not do much more than a couple of conventional interior pictures would do - and in fact in this particular instance in some ways does not give as good a view of the galley/nav station as a single photo does from one side of the door at the front of the saloon.

But it is great fun to play with - some of the things you can do make me feel rather seasick :)

Seen similar stuff on some property web sites, it loads quite quickly, the qualities not bad for the size, no auto re-render on zoom but then you would pay for that in load times, the auto pan option is nice.

Overall very good, are you going add some navigation so that you can go from cabin to cabin or in to the cockpit?

Software fantastic:cool:

Boat looks like a "Shaker" kitchen :(:(

Looks good. Much better feeling on layouts/sizes than when you get stills.

When do you get the version that allows you to go into the cabins, and open the cupboard doors as well...

Exceptionally good quality. So much so that it had an "unreal" appearance on my laptop and looked as if it were a computed-generated image. Technology like this will soon make the boat show pointless. Perhaps you could scatter brochures on the chart table that can be downloaded after clicking.

what sort of camera & tripod are you using?

I'm using a standard tripod (Manfrotto 055) and a standard (if professional) Canon 1dsMKII. But that's not the cunning bit...I'm using a sigma 8mm 180º fisheye, and a 360precision atome rotator which rotates at 90º stops so I take 4 photographs each of which are 180º like the 4 sides of a cube. The rotator is slightly angled upwards so I don't have to retouch the celling/sky

The shooting takes about 5-10 mins for each panoramama

I then plug them into a clever bit of software (Autodesk Stitcher unlimited) which stitches all the images together. then I use another bit of software (the one I've just got) to speed up the production process, and one of the side effects of this is that I can also create Shockwave Flash images that are much bigger and quicker to load than the the Quicktime images I've been creating until now.

The software side of things takes about 10 mins, of which 3 of those I have to be doing something

Before getting the new software they were taking me 25-30 mins each

I hope that explains the process a bit more

Five seconds to load with a 4M BB line
Very useful tool but even more so when you get the walk through going
Wouldn't bother with music, think that's going to ruin it because you can't allow for everyone's taste, maybe sounds of the sea instead ?
With that download speed you could probably allow for slightly higher resolution to crisp up the zoom in
Good idea though, seen it used elsewhere and it can be very helpful, pity they can't do anything to give a feel of 'dimension' though. Very hard to tell how much room you get

That is good.

I use a tablet instead of a mouse. In a sense your software enhances or mirrors the fine degree of control that a tablet and pen offers over a girt big mouse, without actually needing a tablet!

Two thumbs up.

Now make it open the cupboards. You know how we like to do that at boatshows..
