I would to make a point about my proposed boarding steps, the system i have for securing them to the pontoon does not involve screws and would not damage the woodwork of the pontoon in anyway whatsoever. All that is needed is a gap between the boards of the pontoon of at least 3 mm. If there were no gaps at all then screws would be necassary but im sure this would be very rare.
