Your achievements of 2006

About blimmin time, I still miss some of it's features..

I had a terrible boating year, the times my crew had off never coincided with decent weather. We used the boat as a boat maybe 3 times, nice holiday home though.

Nearly finished the heads after years of being embarrassed to have guests on board.

Health stable and progression stopped currently due to drugs, shame they did not start me a few years ago so I could have stayed in better shape, NHS budgets, I would have paid myself if I had been told of availability, but it would have meant selling boat to finance... ah well, nothing can be changed now.

Blew car gearbox up properly, used new door budget for boat having it rebuilt, this also stopped us cruising as it happened on the first day of crews holiday. Subaru 4x4 auto box full re-build and repair. scary scary scary numbers! Works like a dream now though.

What a scary thread, last year just passed by, nothing really to note, what a waste of my 3 score and here's hoping.

Yer right about scary thread.
The only thing in 2006 boaty wise for Me, that was "interesting" was a hairy delivery trip to Ireland.
Well hairy by My standards but not much compared to some Folk's achievements on ere!

Not sure whether the lowpoint was the open fracture of my elbow, seeing my boat sunk at her moorings or seeing wife's mum in ITU. However the year ends well, with the boat floated and in a shed waiting to be fixed, mother in law back at home and back to her old self, arm working pretty well and a new dingy in the garage. On balance then, a good year. Hope everyone has a good 2007.

Spring
Got my Yachtmaster - gales

Summer
Persuaded the skipper that our precious boat would survive 3 weeks without us in an Irish marina - rough start to passage
Had some magic cruising on the west coast of Ireland mid-summer - wall-to-wall sunshine

Winter
Invested in a bimini - more gales
