Your 2016 boating pics.

2016 saw me buy my Fairline... crikey was she a dirty and neglected girl. Big thanks to Paul for bringing it back with us.

I like that pic FP. I had mirror dinghy 56816 so it would have been just a year or 2 older than the one above. My parents bought me 56816 new from Bell Woodworking, as a kit, and my father and I built it. About 1975. The boat above looks in excellent nick @40 years old!

Thanks, but not as spectacular as yours! Buying a drone is on my to do list. The pics come from the Ionian:
#1 Kefalonia
#2&3 Ithaca
#4 Formikoula

In two cruising seasons, we have visited everything between the Diapontian islands and Zakynthos and are now thinking about crossing the Corinth Canal and continue our exploration on the Aegean side.

May I ask where have your #1 and #3 been shot?
Thanks. I really gotta get to Ionian!

My #1 is Portoferrairo, the capital of Elba. Gorgeous place for a night's stopover, and indeed the whole of Elba is beautiful.

#3 is paradise-like spot called Punta Cavallata, a couple of miles NNW from St florent at the very top of Corsica. You can see it on google maps, just to the East of the famous Loto Beach in Corsica. Here are 2 views of same spot but from different angles, and it's in the very opening shot plus 2:30 of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTaY6iGIw5Q

I haven't been to Portoferrairo yet. Looks really pretty, and will be added on my list. Where you in Punta Cavallata at low season to have the privilege to enjoy this place with so few other boats?

Re the Ionian, I promised myself to post a comprehensive report with pics about the area. One day... must overcome my lazyness. Anyway, always happy to answer questions if there are any.

My pictures are around 20 August 2016. They are about 11am - it fills up in the afternoon, though it is still ok. Most boats head like sheep to Saleccia beach 1/2mile further around the corner, which is also beautiful

In this video, saleccia is 1:21, then he flies to Cavallata and over the beach at 1:49, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxmw0iIHnjIis St Florent is the harbour town at each end of the video. One of the nicest parts of the whole Med, in my book. (Though there are plenty of other contenders!)

We had a very good boating year 2016. From the beginning of the season in late April to the end in mid October, we only missed four weekends due to kids birthdays, etc. Fortunately we managed to arrange a couple of extended weekends to make up for them. Together with the six week summer holiday and the one week autumn break, this year has been the busiest boating wise so far. Following pics loosely in chronological order.

We started our season at the Lake Saimaa

Nice one Matt, really enjoyed helping you to get your boat back from Dartside Quay to Ipswich. I'm hoping to come up there in the New Year & see you & James for a couple of jars.
Now looking for some similar trips in 2017, assisted deliveries by sea are by far the most enjoyable
Have a great Christmas

You won't believe it is the same boat! Yes, merry Christmas to you, family and the dog ;)

Here's my 2c, in no particular order/logic - just boat related, somehow...
Thanking the OP for the idea, and also all other contributors for sharing memories.
Some beautiful images indeed so far, keep them coming! :encouragement:

What an amazing year it has been for us, after taking delivery of Artemisia - our new build Prestige 680 - at the end of May, and following our maiden voyage from Port Camargue to Salerno, we ultimately racked up over 1,800 nms this season cruising the Amalfi coast, Neapolitan islands aa well as a big trip south to the Aeolian islands. The following are a few random images that give just hint of the stunning sights and experiences we have had. Roll on 2017 for more of the same!

Nice pic Nauti. Where are you based in Greece, what has your cruising ground been in 2016? I am based in the Ionian.
Thanks Hardmy, trusty Iphone 6 serves well.
Until June 2017 we are based in Kavala, but after June we are looking for a better/new base. It's a working port with many ferries and fishing boats, most of which don't seem to be able to enter port under 6Knt and some over 12Knt! Having said that the new pontoons are great (opened in 2016). As this was our first year and there are a few 'technical issues' with Pelagos we have been restricted to cruising within 4 hours of Thassos. I hope to be exploring further afield next year, not that Thassos and it's locale aren't great.

I am playing with the idea moving my boat within the next 2-3 years around Halkidiki. If you could one day post some pics of your area and other infos, would be really nice :-)

Hope the technical issues are not too severe.
