Young Sailors Documenting their journeys on Youtube ...

I sense a new begging bowl about to be shaken.

deepest apologies

of course

it is all free

if you don't like the films.... don't watch them

however, if you would like a mobo man to make some decent mobo films and include some of those lovely wake shots, then you might need to encourage him to put in some effort bit rather than griping about begging bowls

are there any good mobo films apart from this series?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsooTp5CKCE&list=PLDC226E7F92094011

which appear to be preceded by begging bowls for Knox Haven

bumma

Dylan is totally different from the other 2 video people (and i have gone off La Vagabonde big time)

Dylan started years ago by having an adventure.

He used his skills (that he already had - unlike the others that have learned them to make money) and made his videos available for FREE for us to watch.

He gave the OPTION to pay if you wished to watch in HD on big TV's for the price of a Starbuck's cup of coffee. The subscription gave access to all his videos for a year or something.

I have never been into Starbucks or Costa, so I paid and the videos gave me tonnes more enjoyment then a coffee would .

I learned about places in the UK.

His is a totally different venture and approach

Why are some people on here so quick to knock others? Jealous or just horrible, small minded?

Dylan would probably still video his journey regardless of us for his own memories.

If he stopped posting them, many of us that enjoy the videos would lose out.

So consider us lucky rather than anything else.

I have watched a few of the You Tube Sailing bloggers output and Vagabond and Delos are certainly in my top 5, there are a few however that I struggle with, but find myself watching from time to time from a slightly strange sense of curiosity.

Sailing Nervous https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOv_-9g1Hx0 is one that does not seem to have the same production values as Delos etc. They have set up a Patreon account but I cannot see many folk supporting their efforts as all they seem to do is talk about buying a liveaboard.

The original is Beyond the West Horizon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL8sBp850Hc the commentary is a product of its era and would not be acceptable today. However put that aside and you can see the most amazing changes in the world. I was fascinated to see how backward Spain was at the time this film was made. It does become tedious but fascinating never the less.

Have you guys seen this Web site before. It has been built by Guy who has started a sailing YouTube channel and the Web site is for searching YouTube for sailing channels. You can do all sorts of things like list by popularity etc. Dylan W is quite high but the young fleshy lot do seem to get the hits. Anyway this has no connection with me but I thought it quite good.

Anyone looked at SVSeeker.com? Crazy American with his crazy friends all over the world building a massive Origami Junk. Lots of fun and interesting ideas. I went over to help for a week, poured 10 000 lbs of lead...

Doug Jackson is the Internet star, he is doing so much more than building a junk. Well done you for managing to get over to the States to give him a hand. There is one retired chap from the States who has bought a house on the adjacent lot to Doug so that he can be around to help more. Clever chap Doug is.

so..... would you ever consider becoming a patron to Delos or to La vagabonde before they liberated a CD from a sunken cat

D

I think I'd fall into the category that most people do, in that I watch a few of their video's, don't follow them religiously, but they're are a great distraction.
If I had to pay for them I wouldn't watch them, I'd do something else.

If the people that make that type of video have a problem with people like myself watching for free, they can always make people pay for their videos instead of offering them for free.

Not sure how this relates to stolen CDs and sunken cats.

S/V Prism is also a good watch. They are a Californian couple sailing down to Mexico on a lovely Hans Christian 33.
"Chase The Story" is another one I've just discovered. An English guy and an American lady buy a brand new Fountaine Pajot 44 and set off to the Med and then across the Atlantic.
I bought a new Sony Android TV about 6 months ago and it has YouTube built in. I seem to be spending more and more time watching YouTube than Sky.
