Yoga mat insulation = what glue?

‘Proper’ glue sniffer Evo Stick.
The eco / safe stuff is rubbish. Spray stuff is easier but more toxic and you need to put on plenty. Overspray is a nightmare to clean up.
FFS make sure there is plenty ventilation - it is nasty, awful stuff. Spray/ spread the bulkhead in small sections without breathing the fumes in. Do the cut material bits outside in the fresh air. Wait until it is really dry to the touch. Line up both bits VERY carefully without touching them together - it’s called contact adhesive for a good reason.
If your doing a locker Mark the hull with a vertical line, fold the material in half glued side out and line the crease up with the line before contacting. Smooth out carefully..
Mask off anything you don’t want going yellow before getting the glue out.

Horrible job - I did a whole interior once - I’d never do it again.

I did this with both spray glue and original evostick contact glue, stuck well until the hot summer days and then fell off, fitted it back with glue from hawkehouse, it’s got higher temp range and as stuck well for last 2 years

My experience of spray on contact adhesive was not good. Eventually head lining pealed off on the predominantly sunny side of the boat. A bit of research suggests that brush on is stronger on foam backed type of lining. Others on here have backed this up, but as usual, spray on also got claims of reliability. All my headlining was reglued with brush on and has lasted over 3-5 years now (reglued at different times). I would recommend brush on if there is a hint of porosity on the surface of the mats. Also be very careful with the fumes, seriously risky stuff in confined spaces with long term damage at concentrations lower than that which would knock you out.

I am planning to insulate the cubby holes in the forepeak with Camping mat. They are currently painted. What glue should I use?

Two part contact adhesive. The same stuff used to patch hyperlon dinghies.

As suggested . for resistance o the effects of high temperatures SAF 111 from Hawke House . When I relined my boat they recommended SAF111 applied to the GRP and a spray adhesive applied to the lining

See Hawke House Adhesives | Bespoke Marine Interiors | Hawke House Ltd

Note that you may have to remove the paint

The two part adhesive used for Hypalon dinghies is Bostkl 2402 https://www.lomo.co.uk/acatalog/bostik-2402-guide.pdf

I have insulated the interior cupboards of my boat which were painted, with EVA matting ( probably same as yoga mats )

Contact adhesive gave up after a while and was messy etc.....

Then I tried CTI sealant and has worked a treat,
just splodge on gob stopper size balls onto the matting and slide into place
it is also easy to seal the edges and joins afterward to keep the damp/dust/bugs from getting behind the matting

Evo-Stik Impact Adhesive, cheap, simple and works. You don't need expensive extra strong industrial stuff for sticking foam to the insides of a cubby hole. I did the same in our boat and still good 10 years later.
