Yippee! I\'m in the money!

Just got an e-mail "Winning Noification" to say that I've won £1M in the UK National Lottery Online.Should I book the round the world trip now or wait a while? Seriously, has anyone received one of these before? Not even a hint of a Nigerian address! Peter.

Re: Yippee! I\'m in the money!

you only get them if you're registered on their site, (have also bought ticket and won of course /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif). The email then say's something like "we have good news for you". Never mentions that you've won or the amount.

Sounds like it might just be a wheeze /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

(But if it isn't, remember, I'm you're new best mate !)

Total bollx I'm afraid. I had one of these some years ago, a bloke even rang me up to come to a hotel in london and sure enough i turned up and all I got was a ridiculously oversized pice of cardboard purporting to be a "cheque" and it turned out to be some financial pensions investment scam thing with them trying to push loads of "advisors" and "investment products" garbage at me. I drank a few glasses of the free champagne and sneaked out of the back heh heh.

There were no £1million winners. 2 won just over 4 million each and the next level paid out about £125K so it's a hoax.

You are correct. All £1M winners + a few other biggies get a personal visit within hours of the draw. Lucky things.

If you think that there is even the slightest possibility that this may not be a hoax then I'd like to talk to you about a bridge that's for sale

Re: Yippee! I\'m in the money!

I got exactly the same email recently from 'Fudiciary' Henry......
I seem to get about 2 or 3 variations of this theme every day in my IN box.
But this Fuddy Henry stood out.....
If they are signed 'Mr' - or 'Sir', or 'Lord' even, to try and give a measure of credibility(?), then the author is a Nigerian. For sure.
