As very inexperienced sailors have taken the forums advice and been out playing in a dingy and reading the sailing books. Any last tips appreciated. Just have a good time and enjoy - Flotilla Holidays are great for people that have similar experience as you, you have done the right thing messing around as much on the water. on the first day make note of people that brag about what sailing they have done and at the end of the week some how come a cropper by either getting lost or doing something silly or breaking something.... it's quite funny /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well.... the weather is really excellent for sailing here at the moment..... I'm down Kalamata way, a bit further south, but just speaking to an oppo of mine with a boat up in Levkas, just above Cephalonia, and he says the conditions are just the same..... beautifully sunny, hot without being unbearable, and windy with a swinging southerly at around a force 3...... so couldn't be more perfect for you!

Know you'll have a great time as there really a tremendous amout to see around the 3 islands of Levkas, Cephalonia and Zakynthos..... in fact, with only a week, you'll hardly get to see all the bays and anchorages of Cephalonia!

I know its a serious concern what if it drives the petrol (read diesel) head out of me when i turn the engine off and feel like im swimming with dolphins.

some long sleeved stuff and troosers lightweight in case you get a burnt and there is no bimini
decent knife
wet wipes
hangover cures and rehydration stuff
sunglasses
decent first aid kit with lots of tape
remember wear shoes uintil you get to know where all the deck fitings are
if you cut or stub anything it will not heal as it will be in and out of the water,. hopefully
decent mask and snorkel

you sail in the white bits anchor in the blue bits and get drunk on the yellow bits.

the forecast will 2-3 in the morning 3-4 in the afternoon
