The other day someone asked about Yellowfin, well in the International Boat Industry daily newsletter there was an article that said Yellowfin had announced it had secured distribution agreements with CAT and VW distributors in the UK and USA which is expected to go into full production in the first half of 2008. They have also signed a contract with the UK MOD to assess the suitability of VSD for their requirements to re-power their existing fleet of fast special operations craft.
I just thought I would let you know as the other day nobody seemed to know what was happening with Yellowfin as it seemed to have gone a bit quiet. By the way I am not connected with the company in any way, just interested.

A Yellowfin RIB made an unscheduled visit to the show early on. We shot some video of the boat in action and interviewed the marketing man at Yellowfin. The video can be seen Here

Quelle surprise! Neither Cat nor VW have in house sterndrive or IPS/Zeus capability so they jump on the Yellowfin bandwagon. I think the concensus in a previous thread was that these were the 2 likeliest candidates
I think the next few years could be quite interesting in the mobo propulsion market. Now all we need is for somebody to develop a marinised hydrogen fuel cell

I know you are a bit scathing about the possibilities of Yellowfin, but there are many smaller boat owners out here who welcome the little guy trying to produce a cheaper alternative to the current very expensive systems.
