What's the refund policy at your marina after you have paid a yearly fee in advance for berthing and then have to leave?

Cheers

MDL will multiply the full fat monthly berthing charge by the number of months that you were there then deduct that from the annual charge.
They will refund the remainder, but it's also quite possible to end up owing them money if you pay by direct debit!
It's designed to stop people bailing out half way through a season on the annual rates.

I'm in a Premier.

Annual berthing is a fair bit cheaper than pay monthly. If you want, you can leave your current marina and move to any other Premier Group marina and get a refund or pay the difference as applicable. Otherwise, if you're leaving altogether, in contractual terms, no refund is made.

Current marina offers no refund.
We were with MDL briefly and they do have a refund policy and whilst I can’t recall the full details, when we unexpectedly had to leave we did okay with getting a chunk of money back. The key thing was that we were early in the contract but it struck me as being fairly reasonable. Perhaps because it worked in our particular circumstances.

When we moved to Spain back in 2015, MDL calculated how much we would have paid if we were on a (more expensive) monthly contract, and deducted that from the annual fee we had paid. However, as we were moving from one MDL to another, they kindly refunded me a straight pro-rata of the time remaining.
