Has a prize ever been won by a S'butter?
Has a prize ever been one by anyone?
How many people enter?
Are they real or just an excuse to collect addresses for mail shots?
Must be bored as just filled in one - perhaps the gas man will work his magic soon.
Perhaps a years supply of F-B goodies would attract more entrants - but there again....

Don't often enter them.

Usually by the time I get round to it the closing date has already passed.

Did win two tickets to SIBS this year though but that was the local rag's website.

Tickets duly sold outside at a slight discount, Henri LLoyd pullover purchased with the proceeds !

They\'re real enough...

...and data gathered according to all usual DPA requirements as you'd expect (he says being serious).

Now that's not an attempt to goad us into ensuring you win is it (he says not being so serious)?

Would love to claim am highly bribeable but reality is I'm not the finger of fate with regard to these things.

We haven't published winner names online (they're usually in the mags) but of there's a call for that we can consider it.

I've one two prizes. One was a Leatherman tool, the other a foward looking sonar. Both well worth a couple of minutes filling in the details

Re: They\'re real enough...

Hi Kim,
While you're on about this, my YM subscription comes up in January, should I take the (generous?) discount or let it lapse and go for the crate of Laphroaigh you give to new subscribers at the London Boat show? Or has it been downgraded to a tot of red diesel due to cut backs?

What a thought

Buy a sub and claim your precious jerry can full of diesel. Horrible thought but if it goes white some might think it a good deal!

Genuinely don't know what the London offer is and not in office at the mo. If renewal is Jan I guess you'll be able to check out the various ways the YM crew entice you at that time and take your pick?

BrendanS is bribeable then Kim, 7000+ posts and 2 prizes. Maybe I should get my numbers up a bit, could be worth the effort. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: What a thought

Kim,
There were no freebies with rewal of subs at SBS.
Only as an enticement for new subscribers.
I had to cancel my direct debits and take out new subs to get the very acceptable 70cls of Bombay and the 2 bottles of Kumula.
In fact I got so p***ed off with the attitude on the RYA stand that I didn't renew my membership..
Not good for the loyalty of existing customers.
Cheers Bob E..

What has number of posts got to do with winning prizes? You only win if you enter, and prizes have got nothing to do with forum postings
