Yarmouth IOW grub

Might be, most of the tins are so old they are a bit rusty.

One tin that we have for certain though is a sausage casarole bought in Cherbourg about 4 years ago as an emergancy, can't get SWMBO to use it!

I tried the cafe opposite the bugle a few weeks ago - was very interesting, but only because the staff seemed to be from the Basil Fawlty school of management. In between serving customers (who were clearly getting the way, wanting food in a cafe...), she was on the phone, arguing loudly with her boss because it was too busy and she didn't have enough staff...

Food, to be honest, wasn't good, and the portions were slightly smaller than the price suggested. I won't go back.

There is a pub/restaurant about a mile away at the head of the river (Yar?) I've drunk there many times as there is a nice walk up one side of the river along the old railway track and back on the other side of the river through the fields, but never eaten there. It looked good though and I would think you would need to book. Does anyone else know it?

Red Lion, Freshwater. Excellent food but booking essential. Nice walk to tire the kids out on the way as well. We keep their card on the boat.

Fer wossits sake don't get me started about the Thai. Great place if you enjoy 1+ hours wait for almost everything plus eyeboggling bills.

Yes, that's a no!

Ours are 13 and 14 now and look older but we first went there about 3 years ago. We asked them about children when we booked and it was fine. (The 14 year old is the only one of us who can eat their Mexican Chilli Beef. Be warned.)

Thai ....

Food OK .... prices OK ..... we did it as a Take away and service was excellent ....

Even gave us free prawn crackers while waiting ....
