Feel for you having kept my boat for 10 years in Gouvia. Fortunately I had a friend who helped me dealing with them. Port Police though were hugely unpredictable.
The marina itself is no problem, am happy about that, but it is the Gouvia Mafia I have problem with. They are in close contact with each other ready to rip you off and deliver zero quality. Had one company claiming they were representatives of MAN, Cummins and ZF, advertising with the logos and none of these companies has heard of them. The marina does not do anything about it.
And don't get me started on marina Benitses, then we will be in for a long story.
Perhaps Turkey is not much better, but worse than Corfu ? Hope not.

It's a big problem in Türkiye - too many chancers out to make a quick killing taking on jobs they don't have a clue about. Don't get me wrong. There are excellent yacht builders and traditional boat builders here - at least as good as you'll find anywhere in the world. The problem is locating the right company for the job you want to get done. Your requirement is specific and specialized and that's why i still think you should pump your stabilizer guys for recommendations. Sorry I can't be more help.

Will see if I can press the agent to point me to the correct companies. They are now busy on three other projects, so guess they need to do hull re-enforcement there as well. Perhaps they are willing to tell me who did that.

We had a lot of SS work done in Marmaris, fantastic job, furling top swivel repair not replace, very much a make and mend, not replace attitude.
I too had a lot done, including the work to repair the upper rudder bearing housing which was written up in PBO (July 2016). That was done by Kadioglu in the Saniye which was the best place of all for stainless work. The owner retired and his son took over the metals sales side but his workshop closed. Who is best there now?

If you need someone for SS works I can only recommend the absolute best SS welder I have ever seen in my life. The guy is not in Turkey, but in Greece, but what he can do is simply from another planet. I can weld as well and I have seen other people weld, but you could always see something was welded. This guy is capable of welding in such a way that it looks like it is glued. Spotless and without discoloring the SS.
A chandler in Corfu town pointed his work out to me and next thing I did was hiring him to weld a frame for our solar panels and dinghy. Price wise he was also very acceptable, was actually cheaper than others on the island of Corfu.

If you want to have his name I can forward it to you, but indeed you would have to come to Corfu for it. Don't know if that is feasible. On the other hand, I am coming to Turkey for the stabilizers, and of course to see the country.

Not so sure about them contacting each other to rip you off.
As for the Logos, well, everyone here has every logo they can think of, from Garages, to Builder's merchants to even, yes, shock horror......businesses involved with Boats!!

When we passed through we had some electrical problems, a young guy sorted it for us, above and beyond I would say, one of his opening lines don't let the Simrad cap fool you, I can't for life of me remember his name, he had an office outside the marina at the back of the officers past the polo pitch.

That is not a welded finish, it has been abraded to eliminate the weld bead etc, probably with a power file, then polished.

That is true, it is a completely finished weld, but I have seldom seen this quality of finish. Before I found this welder I checked the work of some others and that was basically the quality I can do myself as well.
