Hi
I've been told to install it in the mixing elbow.
the problem is that : only if the water want go out there will be a high tempreture in the elbow unit and i will see it.

what if the engine warms up , I will not know this.
only if water doesn't go out from the engine then the unit warms up .

what do you think?

thanks

If it is an exhast temperature alarm then it goes immediately after the mixing elbow. If there is no water going out the alarm will sound, so that you do not damage the exhaust, or the engine due to overheating.

It will not tell you if the engine is over heating because of another reason.

Is it an exhaust temperature alarm or is it an engine temperature alarm or an engine temperature gauge.

Barti - do you have a better description of what you are intending to install? Can you post a photo?

The Yanmar ThermoCouple for the 2GM20 goes in the front of the engine ... has nothing to do with alarms or instrumentation at all, but is a mechanical device to allow the cooling water to pass through the engine block. I know - I've just fitted a new replacement one.

Hi
Thanks for the answer.
I want to install the thermo couple of a tempreture gouge .
it is not an alarm.
in the front of the engine there is a gouge/sensor for the heat
alarm , the one that comes with the engine.

I dont want to disconnect it and install the thermo couple but to istall the thermo couple in another place and have 2 ways of letting me know if there is a problem.
