Yanmar Marine Diesels.

I have the 4L HA STZP. Everyone tells me these are bullet-proof. Spares are very expensive but there is an active aftermarket of cloned spares. In the 9 years I have owned mine, and about 250 hours (used for fishing so most journeys a hour or so), it has behaved very well. These are the problems I have had: stuck stop solenoid (easy fix); starter motor running very hot, so taken off and refurbished; fuel supply restriction, found some ptfe tape in the supply pipe; corroded exhaust elbow blowing soot about and also fried the gear cable, fitted aftermarket parts in stainless; circulating water pump leaking, this is the only Yanmar replacement I have had to buy. I haven't had the bill yet! No engine is problem-free but as you can see, only a couple of those were actual Yanmar problems. Hope that helps.

Ooo, thats brilliant.

Think it depends on year. Could be a filter element
After market filter suppliers list both types for Yanmar 4L, boat is a 2000 ., will find out soon enough.
Impellers seem no more expemsive than VP ,
The one recommended for the Yanmar appears to have eaxactly the same part No as the one for the VP 40/41 series of engines.

Impellers are to fit the pump (commonly Jabsco / Johnson), so when you know which one is fitted the hunt becomes easier as it will be specified for several engine brands (e.g. Volvo):

The pump should be a Johnson F7B-9 which uses impeller no. 081028b aka 120650-42310.

Performance:
Flow new impeller 159L/min ±10%
Flow after 100h: Min 140 l/min at
Selfpriming ability: Max 10 sec, 0,5m hight and and 0,6m pipe at 583 Rpm

A brief view on Google shows £ 18.95:
Force 4 Impeller for Volvo Diesel and Yanmar Diesel Engines
