Yanmar hour clock

Is this still the same problem you were asking about last November or the same problem on a new boat ?

I take it the suggestions offered previously were/are no help

You dont say what engine but have you checked that there is a power supply to it when the engine is on. Refer to the wiring diagram to identify the connection. Some just run when the engine is switched on, some ( more recent) however require a pulse from a running engine. Is the tacho working ?

They all do it ..... also Volvo ones.

Various moderately complicated but low cost fixes reported on here, or buy a new one at silly money.

Morning
It’s a different boat last one was sold with problem , it’s a 40hp 3J, there is power to clock as lights up .

Yes, I'm going to have the same sort of problem because I have a Caterpillar hour meter and a Perkins engine. I'll have to do some research then. (A quick check reveals they work off the alternator. There's a lot of info even a Community Forum)
