wondering if any one could recomend an oil removal pump (via dip stick) for a yanmar 3ym30ae. Or any other advice for removing engine oil.
On my 3YM30's with my Lidl electric pump I just push the large tube down over the dipstick tube far enough such that it covers the little hole.If you use a Pela pump, the choice is a fine tube that goes to the bottom of the dipstick tube, or a fatter tube that goes over the end of the dipstick tube. If you do the latter, be aware that the dipstick tube has a little hole near the top that needs to be occluded with a tape and a jubilee clip to enable you to get the vacuum required to remove the oil

No, the thin pipe needs to be placed via the dip stick tube, at the lowest point in the sump to sook the oil out.So being a novice at engine oil changes, can you pump out the oil by putting the suction pipe over the dip stick tube and the suction removes the oil, as opposed to inserting a tube all the way in? I’m guessing there’s always some old oil left in the sump?
Iv just done some separate research and it seems a feature on yanmar is being able to use the dip stick tube as a suction pipe by attaching the suction pipe to the top of the dip stick tube. It seems some other answers have backed this up too.No, the thin pipe needs to be placed via the dip stick tube, at the lowest point in the sump to sook the oil out.
Have they designed it so that the filler tube reaches right down to the very bottom of the sump?Iv just done some separate research and it seems a feature on yanmar is being able to use the dip stick tube as a suction pipe by attaching the suction pipe to the top of the dip stick tube. Yes, it seems its externalHave they designed it so that the filler tube reaches right down to the very bottom of the sump?
You can see the external dipstick on this photo.Have they designed it so that the filler tube reaches right down to the very bottom of the sump?
