These Yanmar units are a constant source of hassle. I have two Yanmar 3ym30's .... originally fitted with the standard high rise. I had a local stainless steel fabricator make up complete units from the exhaust manifold joint through to the rubber hose from chemically resistant stainless steel. Sorry I don't know the grade. The units were cheaper even that buying just the Yanmar elbows ..... and I doubt if they will ever clog like the originals used to.

I suggest you search this forum for 'yanmar exhaust elbows' ..... it has been discussed a few times!

Thanks TWS, mine with careful maintenance has lasted nine years - thought about construction of replacement high rise out of SS which will avoid the hassle of separation of the parts too ! . Anyone signpost me to any suppliers/ engineers ?

Cellar marine in cornwall? I have a bronze-ish casting hi-rise elbow which must have come from them originally, if that helps

The good news is I am now in possession of an spanking new exhaust mixing elbow and double threaded SS joint, the old one fell off and was seriously corroded and rusty and holed.
The bad news is the old SS joint is beyond recovery and it was not fitted with any anti seize so is not moving from the exhaust manifold - my solution and now awaiting delivery from at the local car parts factors is a deep impact driver socket and I am going to try some heat and a scaffolding pole / wrench currently soaking in penetrating oil has anyone l Anyone done this before? if so any tips before I loose my knuckles !
