If this is one of the YS series, such as YSE, YSB or YSM 12, Aqua Marine at Chertsey either hold parts or can get them in for you and are very helpful and do mail order from their web site. http://www.aquamarineuk.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=1
Somewhere I have a manual for the YSE 8 and 12 on my computer and with some encourgement could find it. I also have a hard copy of the YSM manual on my boat which I could photocopy any relevant parts that you may need - but don't want to photocopy the lot.
There is a Yanmar forum that discusses each engine by model type that I could find if pressed as it is bookmarked on a computer other than the one I am using currently. Let me know if you are interested.
Have a look at http://www.freeboards.net/index.php?mfor...338&act=idx
Most manuals are available (we still need YSB shop manual), parts are still available for the YS series but they are now very expensive.
The Yanmar page on the freebaords site also has lots of good info.
Hope this helps
Neil
You could have one of 4 engines if it is horizontal it could be a YSB12, YSE12 or YSM12. Or if its it a vertical engine it could be a SB12.
Parts are still readily available. I use French Marine Motors for all my spares I have found them to be great very helpful and I always get my spares on time. You can find them here www.frenchmarine.com
Please bear in mind that I have not had it running although I have had it spinning over on the Starter Motor & it certainly had Compression. I bought it for spares 18 Months ago & paid £120. Make me an offer if your interested.
YSE and YSB very similar and a common manual, YSM totally different. When you know which it is, I have most manuals/handbooks for YS engines in pdf if you want them.
Horizontal Models
YSE 74 to 76
YSB 76 to 77
YSM 77 to 80
If it has a vertical cylinder it will be the SB12, I had one in my last boat and it was a lovely little donk. Parts were still available then (6/7 years ago). It was dead easy to start on the handle too.
