It look like I'm going to be replacing poor old Solitaire's ailing V8 with a 170 HP Yamaha and leg. I have no experience of this confuguration at all. I know those that have had Yammie outboards and have sworn by them - positively/forums/images/icons/smile.gif I would be interested in hearing others views. The unit is not new but I have it on good authoritity that it is in excellent condition, I'm also going to see it.
Are there any particular faults I should be on the look out for? Areas prone to corrosion etc. Thanks in advance

Do you mean Yam 170hp Diesel or Petrol? 170 or 165hp Diesel ME370STI has good reputation in RIBS. Well known RIB adventurer the name of whom provokes uproar on these forums went across the Atlantic powered by one. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I'll give them a bell and check it out. All ready had a quote from RK Marine for Kad 32. I have to weigh up the value of the boat against the cost of a new diesel - and of course the rationale to SWMBO/forums/images/icons/smile.gif She wants a new kitchen/forums/images/icons/frown.gif

I had a ME370STI on last boat which never missed a beat. Power at prop was 150HP vs 165 at engine. Hydradrive was silky smooth. I think maxtorque has one on his boat.
