Yamaha Malta shear pin

How is the malta prop protected? is it a shear pin like in the old mariner and yam 4hp? and is there a download manual available?

From memory there is no shear pin--the propellor locates on a splined rubber hub which will "sliip" if the prop hits a solid object

Haven't a clue! Seriously, don't know, try Googling.

There's no shear pin. If you hit something hard the rubber sleeve between prop and hub can come unstuck and you then buy a new prop. I don't know but you might be able to glue it up again.

I downloaded a manual for my old BF2 recently. I can't remember which site though, it may have been the Honda US one, but it took a bit of finding.

I have had success with gluing but still treat it as a temporary fix. If the slippage isn't total, that is it slips at medium to high revs, glueing might work. Dig out a channel of the rubber compound and fill with glue. I used Araldite but I can't suggest it's the best for the job because there must be some flexing going on between the shaft/rubber/prop. Anyway it worked until I bought a new one some weeks later so I keep the old one as a spare.
