Hi,

I am looking to buy a boat and one candidate has a "Yamaha 6 CEML" outboard. Does anyone know what CEML designates?

Looking at the current Yamaha range I see different combinations of 4 letters, but aside from L/S for long and short shaft I cant make any sense of them.

F2.5 AMHL "Long Shaft version "
8 CMHS

Any idea?

Joe

I contacted Robin Curnow of http://www.robincurnow.co.uk/ on your behalf, and he has given me the following information.

6 CEML =
6 = HP (pretty obvious)
C = Model Code (there is A, B, C, D etc)
E = Electric Start
M = Tiller Control (I think he may have meant Wheel, but....)
L = Long Shaft

Philip
