Yamaha 5 hp Outboard

Hey there,

I have a Yamaha 5 horse and want to check the impeller.

I undid all the bolts and stuff, but couldn't get the bottom off.
Something was holding on.

Can anyone tell me what that was and how to release it?

only had it for a year and want to be able to lay it up properly this winter.
i did buy a DVD for a few quid but it's so general and a massive file, i may expire before i find the bit i need

Look at the gear shift rod. It should have a place to disconnect it somewhere.

the dvd mentioned that, but I couldn't see it or, a place to disconnect it

Its on a pinch bolt at the top just under the crankcase.

How do i get to the pinch bolt at the top/
So fat I've only got the bottom off.
Are there more nut and bolts to remove at the top?
