If i decide to replace coil , condenser and / or points on my Yam to try and get it firing on both i will need to use a flywheel puller - which of course i don't have in Ireland where the boat is.
Has anyone an alternative method of removing a flywheel without the "factory tool" ??
Or should i just get it to a pro shop?
Please advise as my holiday depends on it!!

Many thanks

Freddy

Whereabouts in Ireland? I have a massive set out outboard toold over there, but depends where you are.

Is it an ancient Yam? If not it will have no points, just electronic ignition and magnetos on the flywheel. You can change most of the components without removing the flywheel

I'm in Bantry area.
It is a fairly old Yam - 676BT1401057 to be exact. I was under impression it had points.
Any advice greatfully received.
If i knew a local "agent" i would get them round but dont know any one nearer than Cork.

Thanks

SW Ireland boat fixers

We are in rosscarbery, though not there much. There is an outboard fixer in Skibbereen, I think he is called Rory something but the firm is called Yokane Boat Services. Actually he is 3 miles outside Skib, I can picture the road now but cannot remeber the name of the village/bay he is in. Early on (10yrs ago) I thought his service was rubbish but I believe he has got better since then, with more business and some mechanics who know what they're doing. I thought he had a Yamaha agency in fact, though I might be quite out of date on all this.

Other than this, you have to go to Cork as you say
