Anyone using one of these gadgets? http://www.yakbitz.com/Yakker.aspx
I’ve got an ais transceiver but it’s down below and I’d like to see what’s going on at the helm. I can’t display ais data on my ancient plotter and there’s no practical place to mount the ais at the helm, so wondered about fitting one of these gadgets and then using an iPhone of iPad to display the ais data.
The bridges are cheap as chips so not too worried about buying one, just wondered if there’s anyone using one at the moment?

I bought one over the winter and fitted it to allow the ais data to be viewable on my tablet running Opencpn in the cockpit.
I works well and easy to set up the WiFi hotspot.

Bought mine over a year ago and it has worked perfectly since. Recommended. I had a question on setup and the seller gave excellent email help.

The Yakker works well but does get hot, at least mine seems too. I have also fitted a separate on/off switch and fuse via the instrument supply.
