As a social experiment I copied a previous question that had been posted on this forum to Yahoo Questions/Answers. I expected the results to be very different from the answers given here on the same topic...

I have looked at Yahoo Answers before and have been amazed at some of the questions (for example, what do you call a boat that carries cars and people?) and indeed some of the ridiculous answers given. To my surprise the answers to this particular question were actually very sensible, well thought out and to the point!

For those who are interested in my little experiment then this is the link to the original question:

And here is the link to the Yahoo Answers:

I think one of the noticeable differences is the added banter on the ybw forum. I for one will continue enjoying the topics and banter that we know and love right here!

It does pose the question though, have you dabbled with Yahoo (boating) Questions and what do you think? Or perhaps you are a regular contributor?

Pete (Maybe now that we are coming towards the end of the season I have too much time on my hands!?)

It seems to me that most Yahoo answers are from Americans - which shoudn't be too surprising given that they outnumber us six to one. YBW is mostly British, which means it's sarcastic / ironic at times.
