Yacht lost off Long Sand Head?

can't find any reference to it on the web, did anybody else hear the substantial VHF traffic between the coastguard, lifeboats and wind farm support vessels plus the repeated attempts over 48hrs by first Dover then Thames to contact a yacht called "Yamas II"

The worst has to be suspected given the Pan Pan issued by Thames with regard to debris and a horseshoe buoy with the name of the yacht on it being found near the London array

Dreadful business, surprised it's not been mentioned

Heard Dover calling the Yamas on Thursday several times without getting a response

Heard it too but didn't realise it was a yacht. Not sure what they found, and if any more information was had - presumably if they were CG66 registered they would have been on the phone and they would have issued details on the VHF. If not, then not sure how they go about knowing if/what to look for unless somebody phones in with somebody overdue.

Launched on service at 09:30 for yacht aground on sunk sands, yacht refloted just before we arrived, then get tasked to commence a search in the middle of the london array wind farm as debree was found. After searching nothing else was found & returned to Walton pier at 14:00.

I can confirm that there was no vessel in any trouble in relation to this. The lifering was from a french yacht that had lost it while on passage between Ramsgate and Dunkirk.

The rest of the 'debris' was just general rubbish that was noticed due to the light wind and flat sea state.

Walton lifeboat and a number of wind farm vessels did commence a search until confirmation of where the lifering came from was ascertained.
