Decided to purchase the hull fittings. Quite pricey, however very well made and once fitted will not look like a sore thumb. The legs themselves appear to be rairer than rocking horse sh1t . So looks like scaffold pole time. Can anyone give me the dimensions of the actual stainless spigot that fastens into the hull fitting.

Ta in advance.

If you manage to buy yacht leg company legs then they have their own hull fiiting. (I was lucky and only paid £1000 for the legs). The advantage of that system is that legs clips to hull fitting without the need for doing nuts up inside while someone else holds the leg in place

If you are making the legs up in wood then it obviously needs to be profiled to the hull fitting.

Without knowing the make of the hull fitting there is now way of knowing the desired spigot size but the supplier should be able to tell you. Typically not massive, maybe 12mm, as not carrying the full weight of the boat just the out of balance load

Connecting scaffolding poles to a spigot sounds an interesting job - good luck with it

Apologies for not stating these actually are manufactured and sold by the yacht leg company. Unfortunately they don't supply the legs anymore. They did enclose the diagram below, and ime hoping someone may have the exact dimensions to hand.

Thanks Vyv , any chance of a picture with tape measure not obstructing the spigot . Ime really after how the u pin retains the shaft and how snug a fit. Looks like a section of milled propshaft may be up to it.

There are some pics on my website at Installing Yacht Legs Here is another shot although not exactly of the spigot.

I turned a couple of spigots in 13 chrome stainless and welded them to steel tubes, rather larger diameter than scaffolding tubes, for winter storage. The ones shown in my link for the non-adjustable legs seem like the way to go for you if using aluminium poles.

How long do you need them? I have a pair of beaching legs with mounts in my shed.
They go from 1.65m to 1.87m centre of mount to base, I'm in st.neots cambs if you want to have a look.
Hi Snowbird
Are they the ones like in the diagram, as I have already installed the hull fitting , If so pm me with your details and how much

Cheers
