Yacht controller or Dockmate

Hi Rubberduck,

I would like to start by saying that for IPS drives and a bow thruster Dockmate has the NEW GENERATION products, and has no faults.
I have been a dealer for Yacht Controller for about 9 years or so and after dealing with certain issues from Yacht Controller i made the switch when i saw Dockmate.
Not only will you get a better Warranty value (up to 3 years) but there customer service will take care of you at Dockmate. I dont know how many instances the remote or the control box from Yacht Controller would go bad from water intrustion etc. and would never cover ANYTHING. Dockmate asks very few questions and takes care of there clients and dealers. Sorry for the late response on this, just got onto this forum for this new product Dockmate and obviously this caught my eye.

Any thoughts on the whole yacht remote control, I have been looking at the yacht Controller which looks to be the best but other advice is welcome.
 
WE have Dockmate, does what it says on the tin, also looked at Yachtcontroller & heard good things about it. We ended up going with Dockmate as the IPS offering seemed better. Personal choice, what are the dealers of each like in your area re after sales, price etc...............

I spoke with the engineer that completed my Dockmate system and he explained to me that the Dockmate system is plug and play with the Volvo IPS so it uses the same controls on the Dockmate Twist remote than the Joystick would on the Volvo Joystick effectively being the same thing.
Dockmate seems to have a better Warranty and I preferred the Controller than the Yacht Controller, and the thing that got me was... No Splicing into the controls!
The dealer who installed mine seems always happy to speak with me about the ins and outs, find him on www.dockmateeastcoast.co.uk he will travel to you if needed I am sure!
