Bit of a long shot this but Arghiro was my first Cruiser. Sold her in early '90s to a chap in Loch Etive (N of Oban). Kept in touch, but he was not in good health & sold her on to a couple of lads from the East coast of Scotland about 10 years ago.

Any one seen her since? No special purpose, other than we had sooo much fun in that boat! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If the current owner is out there I would be happy to offer a bit of history/ photo's etc. Here's hoping!!

Sorry, can't help but ...
I really thought there would be a lot of interest in boat lineage which is why I started www.boatlog.co.uk a while back.
However, it would seem that there really isn't that much interest as there are only a few boats listed.
There's also the fact that few know about it and I haven't got the money to promote it. Non-commercial ... honest!

I think the outboard stowage arrangements on the W25was brilliant. Nowadays the outboard seems to be an afterthought on lots of boats either a hingeing bracket hung over the stern or a cockpit well.Neither solution is perfect its easier to raise the ob.with a bracket but easier to reach the controls and less likely to pitch the prop out of the water with a cockpit well.

Well I for one didn't know about it , maybe you should carry a link in your signature ,,,,,,,,, anyway ,,, just added mine too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif , I'll add more details when I can

That's better , Brendan has one for forumites to add their location but it doesn't allow as much as yours does , I think I made it burp though /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Just bought Arghiro last week from a chap in Stonehaven, was out sailing today off Stoney, she is still in superb condition for her age.

Oh, my word! We loved that boat! Had her from '81 to '88, at Heswall, Conway, then Dumbarton & Rothesay. Bought her from Conway & sold her to an older couple based at Loch Etive, I understand they sold her to the east coast, so that could be your Stonehaven owner. She had a Johnson 9.9 o/b at the time but it was starting to get a bit long in the tooth 25 years ago! I fitted Plastimo RR & converted the existing Genny to fit.

PM me your e-mail for some early pics, I wouldn't mind a couple of her as she is now too, if you have any. So pleased to hear she is alive & well!
