Does anyone know the outcome? Heard it on the vhf, Walton lifeboat was going out but I was about to go ashore so missed whether all 3 crew were rescued. Hopefully they were all rescued.

Clearly a successful outcome Walton Crew did a great job of reassuring the casualty on their way. What was disappointing was the inexperience of the young lady (not that it matters) who clearly had no idea of the plight or nature of the casualty it was toe curling. She appeared to not be able to empathise with the situation.
Coastguard clearly have an 'approved script' cos computor says. Sad that the local experience is no more.
Several years ago I had a conversation with the Cox'n of the Walton LB about several things and he mentioned that if he heard a call to the CG about the Long Sand Head (he was clearly monitoring), he prepared the vessel because it was so fickle (not the word I now remember he used but similar) in that area. The Black Deep PHB (guarding the Long Sand Head inter alia) has been the most re-adjusted buoy position in the Estuary.
Sailorman has intimate knowledge of tap dancing on the end of Long Sand Head. His keel stayed attached.
