I found this program in the Science and Engineering section of the AppCenter included in Elementary OS, but it should be available to anyone using Linux. From the description it looks to be a very capable tide program, but I have not tried it because I sail in a non tidal area. Has anyone tried it? I don't know how worldwide it is as a lot of Linux programs are US based..

It s a long and old story, xtide/wxtide :)
The program had a very complete set of worldwide, basic harmonic constants, if I remember well about 6 or 8 flr each location, more than enough for navigation purposes in most places on earth.
During the years they were asked to scrap all proprietary harmonic constants by the UKHO, then other HO having copyright over theirs...
Not sure what is left of today, but old versions like 2.0 can still be found in the internet abysses.
Also, a number of issues with utc/local time, or some secondary port approximations... nothing that could nlt be solved with a bit of common sense

And you will be able to find tables of tide times and height for ports world wide derived from this at http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/

For UK ports : http://tides.mobilegeographics.com/zones/:Europe/London

I have been using wxtide for some years and find it quite accurate in the areas I sail.

Seems to now be available for windows 10, mac and android.

Another wxtide user, here. It usually differs from Admiralty predictions by a few minutes - who can tell which is correct, though? The standard ports are often different too - Devonport instead of Plymouth springs to mind!
