Quote "Extra police will patrol Bondi and security guards will be stationed at ramps leading to the beach to stop revellers taking alcohol there.

We will be strictly enforcing an alcohol free zone over the Christmas period, particularly on Christmas Day," a spokeswoman for the local government council told Reuters on Thursday."

Not going there then, but where are you going (he asks sounding like powerskipper :)

Its a crap beach at Bondi anyway (full of posers and kiwis). Its only redeaming feature is the proximity to the city centre.

There are much better beachs further north (e.g. manly and the three or four beaches north of that)

Only the ones ("kiwis") we are pleased to be rid of /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Quite some years ago one of our more colourful prime ministers described the sending of them to Oz as "...increasing the average IQ of both countries."

They say this every year, but I still saw a lot of mashed up people leaving last year. Having said that there is an organised event now close to Bondi for all the (mostly british) people that used to swarm the beach, so maybe they went there instead.
