Hope someone can help with instructions for an XM Pro-Dry dehumidifier (inherited with our boat). Unfortunately, there is no manual with it - I've tried various web searches (including this forum) but all I've found is a fairly long thread about problems with this model.

I've got it set up to drain into the galley sink, with a pipe from the outlet on the back of the unit. However, it is still draining into the main tank and it looks as if the inlet pipe into the tank will need to be plugged, presumably directing the flow out of the rear outlet.

I'm also unsure of the difference between the various settings on the main switch.

Has anyone experience of this unit please?

Thanks in advance.

Most important things to know for your airdryer:

- After transport (when tilting or shaking occured), leave for 2 hours before switching on
- The main control knop is connected to a hygrostat that determines how 'dry' the air in the room should get. Clockwise turning gives lower humidity (in the end). Similar to a thermostat.
- If the unit operates below 12 Degrees centigrade, it will automatically run a defrost cycle every hour to prevent ice-forming in the unit. The indicator will light up during those cycles
- When using an external drain, remove the cap from the outlet on the back and place it on the outlet that drains into the tank (remove the tank first). Do not forget to replace the tank afterwards.
- The hose connected to the drain has a diameter of 11 mm.
- Do not forget to clean the airfilter regularly.

Cheers,

Arno

Our B&Q unit needs to be tipped back slightly to drain into the pipe. The thickness of a magazine under the front feet is enough.

It also has a rubber bung inside the outlet pipe that needs to be removed after the screw on cap is removed. This is not at all obvious as it is black. Don't lose it!

We don't remove the bucket from ours. What happens if the pipe freezes?
