XM Bosuns Chair

There was a well publicised failure of one of these a few months ago. Does any-one know what particular part of this chair failed?
Are XM chairs clearly marked with the brand name? I have a chair with no name on it, it seems OK but I'd like to be sure that it isn't an XM.

They have had mine since 19th December. Bunch of imcompetents.

The XM website gives some identification references for this product recall.

We still don't know the component to look at. One came with my boat, but I've no idea how old it is, or how to recognise the potentially failing batch.

Mine was upgraded last year. It is navy blue fabric with yellow webbing and is clearly marked with the XM logo. I found Mark Goldsmith helpful, the item was collected FOC and when it came back it came direct from Jimmy Green Marine who presumably did the work.
The modified bit is where the webbing attaches to the main lifting ring. As originally supplied, the webbing went through the ring and was only overlapped by about 10mm with a couple of rows of stitches.
When it came back, an extra length of webbing had been added which went through the ring and extended about 6 inches down each side on top of the original webbing. Well stitched in place.

Thanks , my chair is blue & yellow like the XM, which is why I was worried. Also, I think it pre-dates yr2000, quoted inXM's website, but now I know the weak spot, I'll re-check it.
