X 37

X34 is a nicely built boat and with good performance, based on racing against one.

I don't know your age but take care not to buy the boat you wanted ten years ago rather than the one you might want in ten years time. I increasingly appreciate decent headroom, toilet space, accessibility of systems and engine plus manageable loads on ropes, an easy to move around in deck/cockpit and a steady ride in rough weather.

Much depends on where and how you plan to sail.

Many thanks Dunedin for you quick and clear message. I'll go for a more messages before Micaro is able to send me a private one.
Maybe this one counts for one ;)

Hi Micaro, To start with this topic, and before you can reach me on my PM, hereunder is a summary of who I am and what I am looking for...
I've been sailing since I was a child in Britanny - France (here). My father owned classic boats and so did I (there). I raced on my monotype 7,50 and I have always looked for good performances. Every time I rented a boat, I have been disapointed by the performances. I like the finesse of a boat's helm, the balance of the hull, and I love adjusting the settings.
Well, at this stage of my message, you already guess I love X boats... Taht's why I'm thinking of buying one.
37 feet is a good size for me as It can be carried out by a single person. I found a 2005 one but she needs some cosmetics work. It don't seem to be structural but varnishes at least, + some work on the teck deck + new sails.
First questions are : You've been owning a X37 for a few years now, including maintenance. Would you recommend a X37 ? and why ?
Second question is : If you were about to buy one, What would you check first and second ?
Thank you !
