WWII Dornier bomber being raised from English Channel

Very interesting,I thought it would take longer. With enough 'citric acid and sodium hydroxide' quoting the BBC,also known as bleach and lemon juice, she should be back in the air soon ;)

point of order, bleach is sodium hypochlorite....
That's my mistake. It must be tricky cleaning wafer thin aluminium panels, not much room for error,or nothing left, hence use of correct chemicals. S.Hydroxide is drain cleaner which dissolves hairs etc, perhaps it removes shellfish and other life without hurting the ally. Anyway shouldn't the Luftwaffe be paying for all this ;)

Nothing said about the crew - had they baled out or are they still inside? If still there, just wondered how the salvagers get around this, presumably needed permission from the relatives?

I read somewhere that the crew all escaped the aircraft, so it's not a war grave.
