I thought there was a pub near the railway station?

It used to be a very satisfying stumble downhill from the Black Boy (oops! - I mean Black Buoy).
Anyone know where the black buoy was ? MG might have known it in his days.

The Black Boy pub was right next to the station, on the junction of Black Boy Lane and Rectory Road. It closed in 1998 and is now a private house.

There was another pub, the Wheatsheaf, on the junction of Harwich Road and Wheatsheaf Lane. It closed in 2000 and is also now a private house.

We're so p'eed off with the weather we've resorted to booking a day trip to Calais sur le P&O tomorrow for a spot of lunch. Could be a bit of a breeze but hell, we're tough enough to sit it out in the bar while someone else up aloft worries about CPAs. Watch out you moules.
