So what we are basically saying is that there a multitude of situations where a mayday is required and nobody should really be chatised for making their own judgement call.
I have heard the CG say in response to a Mayday "This is not a mayday situation". It was a polite *******ing but a *******ing nonetheless.

Apart from that, you said the CG were a bunch of know-nothing call centre operators who worked to pre-written scripts. He was entitled to rebut that with strong language. Get over it.
