That's what we do. Not so much of a problem if you can do all your own repairs and carry a

I really just want to insure for total loss, and I had a "partially comp" (GBP 500) on last insurance..

I think you could find out about the boat insurance by The Hartford. We’ve been insured through them for about 7 years now and we’ve never had any complaints with their service or rates. Take a look.

Not sure how carrying a good stock of spares is going to help if your boat is sunk or stolen?

Exactly.. I do repairs myself, I need to insure my meagre capital against total loss. That's the point of insurance isn't it, if I had enough cash for another one I certainly wouldn't be feeding the vampires
